The Lizard presents... EBB Live in Tulsa video!

You heard about it here first, now see the video for yourself!  This Saturday 6 September sees the official Premiere of the EBB Live in Tulsa video.  At 10.00am GMT, the video filmed by Cindy and produced by Bill will be posted on the EBB Forum!  It features all the songs from the Band's gig and candid shots of the guys before the event, as well as a rather worrying (but not wholly unexpected) 'Jones in the mirror' moment.  You'll know what I mean when you see it.  For those of us who have seen the Band live, it'll bring it all back.  With all the songs that showcase Casey, Richard, Ron, Steve, and Bill's talents, and the unmistakable blues and moves of Vaughn 'The Man' Armstrong, there is something for everyone.  You really should not miss it!!

Visit the Forum here this Saturday to share in it's 38 minutes of fun!

Vaughn on Criminal Minds...

Vaughn is continuing his successful year with another appearance on a top US show. This time he has a guest spot in CBS's Criminal Minds, which follows a team of elite FBI profilers as they get in to the heads of America's most twisted minds to solve crimes.  Is Vaughn one of those minds?  Wait and see... His episode is due to air in around three months time.  Air dates when we get them will be posted here or on the Criminal Minds forum topic.  My DVD rental account can't keep up with this, but long may it continue for members of the EBB!

The latest news from Just Hank Productions is that the short film Trail End, co-starring Vaughn, has been accepted in to two more Film Festivals.  First it screens in the global film focussed Rome International Film Festival in Georgia between 4-7 September (showing on the Sunday).  Then later the same month, at the Gene Autry Film and Music Festival in Oklahoma from 24 to 28 September, which is one long party festival for Cowboys, country singers, and their families.  I can see the film touching many a cowboy's heart that week.

Ron on Lie to Me Pilot...

Ron has just advised he will be the Visual Effects Supervisor on a brand new Fox TV pilot show, called Lie to Me.  It stars Tim Roth (of Pulp Fiction/Reservoir Dogs fame) and Brendan Hines (of the Sarah Connor Chronicles) and filming begins next week.  The show is about Dr Cal Lightman (Roth), a crime solver with a difference, with powers of observation so exceptional he is a 'human lie detector'.  It is written by Samual Baum, and shares Executive Producers with the fantastic '24'.  That's a pretty impressive line up, even before our own five time Emmy winner Mr Moore joins the crew.  Ask him all about it on the Lie to Me forum topic

JumpCon - all dates gone

All remaining dates for the JumpCon schedule have now disappeared from their website.  It is only a matter of time now before the official announcement that it is all over.

(News updated 16 July 2008)

JumpCons postponed and cancelled

It has been announced today on the JumpCon website that the Boston convention planned for this coming weekend (18-20 July) has been cancelled, and the events in Pittsburgh and Chicago have been postponed.  Read about it on the JumpCon site, and the EBB Forum JumpCon topic.  Although at the moment there are Events still being promoted on their site with guests, realistically, it looks like their whole convention schedule will be cancelled.  It's a bad year for Star Trek conventions.

Casey back on stage

After focussing on directing for some time, Casey will be back on stage in August, starring with Maureen Anderman in Noel Coward in Two Keys at the Berkshire Theatre Festival, Massachusetts.  The play runs from August 12 to 30, Monday through Saturdays (with matinees on Thursday and Saturday).  Coward's final play is composed of two one-act comedies, and is directed by Vivian Matalon, who also directed the author himself in the play in London.  Find out more in Casey's forum and the EBB forum

Richard hits Vegas!

Richard will be appearing at Creation's Las Vegas Star Trek Convention this year between August 6 and 10.  The convention gets bigger each year, and attracts over 20,000 fans over the five days.  Maybe more this year, as fans pay their last visit to the Star Trek Experience, which closes in September.  Raise a Warp Core Breach for me at Quarks, Richard.

EBB JumpCons in July

Vaughn has confirmed today that the remaining two JumpCon events in July (Boston on 18 July and Pittsburgh on 25 July) will not feature the Enterprise Blues Band.  This was expected, but he posted to clear up a misunderstanding on the JumpCon forum that the Band had cancelled, as it was actually JumpCon that asked the start of the EBB tour be postponed.  Read about this on the EBB forum JumpCon Tour topic

For your second helping of Bill today, visit the forum to see his hilarious (and very very strange) short film Le Fez Pucker, made with Award winning Director Tamar Halpern.  If you've been keeping up with our news, you'll know this short was recently screened at the Broad Humour Festival in Venice, California.  See it on the EBB Le Fez Pucker topic on the Forum.

Bill back on TV in Cold Case

Bill has just told us the brilliant news today that he will be appearing in an episode of CBS's popular Cold Case TV show!  He will play an emotional scene as the younger brother of a soldier who disappeared on his way to fight in the Korean War, and was dishonourably discharged for going AWOL.  The show is about a group of detectives, led by Lilly Rush (Kathryn Morris) who investigate unsolved murder cases.  The show's Executive Producer is none other than Jerry Bruckheimer, the man behind the fantastic CSI, so it must be good!  Find out more on the Cold Case website and keep an eye here and on the Cold Case forum topic for the air date.

JumpCons at Kalamazoo and Stamford cancelled

As announced yesterday on the JumpCon website, the first two conventions of the JumpCon tour have been cancelled.  These were the events in Kalamazoo and Stamford.  The EBB were not going to be at these two events, so it doesn't affect them.  Read about the cancellations on the JumpCon forum or discuss them on the EBB forum JumpCon topic

(News updated 27 June 2008)

EBB appearance at JumpCon Kalamazoo cancelled

Vaughn has just announced on the forum that the EBB will not be going to the JumpCon con in Kalamazoo, Michigan on July 4.  This is part of the re-grouping of the organisers to make sure the events that are left in their Tour schedule are given their full potential.  JumpCon is in discussions with the Band about confirming the other dates, but it may be that they start their tour in late August rather than July now.  We are all disappointed for our American family, but this may be a sensible decision from the organisers to concentrate their time and resources on providing the unique experience they promised at the remaining events.  Talk about this news on the EBB Tour Forum Topic

(News updated later 21 June 2008)

Six JumpCon conventions cancelled

Despite the message that no JumpCon con would ever be cancelled, six of the planned events (where the EBB were playing) from September and October have had to be cancelled.  This is due to lack of hotel room sales in those venues, and the fact they were clashing with other cons.  Also, the JumpCon Atlanta con will not have a science fiction/anime focus, due to it's proximity to DragonCon.  The full explanation is on the new and improved JumpCon website, and the reaction is being discussed on the EBB Tour forum topic.

Vaughn is a Mad Man!

Vaughn announced to our friends at the Star Trek Italian Club convention this last weekend he has landed a guest role in the top US series Mad Men, written and produced by Emmy Award winning Sopranos writer Matthew Weiner.  If you haven't seen the show, it is set in 1960's New York, in the ruthless stylish ego-driven world of Advertising.  Reading about the show, it is an intelligent entertaining portrayal of post-war life and materialism, with the style and scripts that American shows do so well.  Now, can't you just see Vaughn in one of those suits?  More details to follow when known... check out Vaughn's Mad Men forum topic for news!

Bill's French Pez at the Broad Humour Festival...

Through his long time support of female creative talent (one of many reasons why we love him), and his role in Tamar Halpern's Award winning Shelf Life film, Bill was asked at last year's Broad Humour Festival to make a short film for this year's event.  He has made and edited the short film with Tamar, to the specs that it must contain real or fake French, and a Pez.  The festival runs from 13 to 15 June at Venice in California, and Bill's film will be part of their Legacy Shorts program, with a dedicated screening.  Ask Bill about it on the forum or visit the Broad Humour Festival website
