If anyone wonders why I am not posting at the FedCon Forum anymore. I was banned by Tom ( obviously for other reasons that for what I have posted, he is referring to stuff written privately I guess ... ) and can't hence post there.
What a douche... _________________

Really?! What a liberty!!! Douche hits the spot there.
I'm not to happy with the Fedcon people at the moment. Only one problem after the other with my ticket order for Fedcon XX. I wanted to order my ticket online and they did not have an option to pay by credit card. I don't have a German bank account anymore and my bank charges a whopping £25 for Euro transfers, so plastic is my preferred payment method. Got an email back from them asking me to transfer, so I replied that I'd like to pay by card. They then suggested to send my card details via email (!!!) or fax (from a corner shop as I don't have one..). Great. Not. After much hassle I got my Mum to transfer the money for me.
Also, my confirmation letter did not arrive and my polite querying resulted in some snappy emails from their side. I got it now via email, if they don't accept it at reception I will get beyond of angry... Will hope for the best, but somehow I have this feeling that it won't be that easy. _________________ "Note to the galley: Romulan Ale no longer to be served at diplomatic functions." |

No way! You got blocked again???? What about freedom of speech?
I don't get them over there. To my shame, haven't been here for a while. Sorry. Been busy.... And I wasn't on the ST board either.... |

Did you see the SpiriTV 8 minutes clip? It is linked on their twitter page. Dani, I think you are in it. |
Yaaay, I am!!! Walking through the door at the world record thingie. And my Lakarian punk friends, too. Thanks for telling me.

Got it now. Had a little read at the FC forum to catch up with you.. Can only agree to everything you guys have said.
I'm not happy about my FC pics, either. Will definitely need to do a bit of Photoshop on mine. I felt very rushed this year and I have the impression that my photos came out too dark. The background was better, but they should have zoomed in a little closer, so that the photo would have been approx from the waistline upwards. I will think twice next year if I really want to do another photo session, or I might wait til day 2 just to check how the photos will come out. |
Was a nice video, indeed. And I thought I spotted you. |

Yes, that's right. He traveled too far and ended up in Godesberg and they had to get him back from there... |
Would've happily got him to Bonn *cough cough*
 |
Me, too. LOL. Wish I had seen him at the Opening though. |

Yeah, sorry
At first I got pretty mad but honestly ... I couldn't care less, so it's fine now. I have my opinion about several people that "work" there and this opinion won't ever be changed. What's the point in arguing with them, then. Plus, it gives me a lot of free time. Don't have to check the Forum regularly.
Well, freedom of speech as they see it. I mentioned they've deleted posts in another topic ( which they claim they can do if the content is not to their liking - they state this right at registration ) and as soon as I did that ... BANG, blocked. They say they can do it, they do it, you say they did it, you're out? Great. Not. But I won't be wasting my time there any more so I don't care. Will do Ring*Con fully and see if there's a next Ring*Con, but won't attend FedCon again. _________________

Hm. I see your point; BLT.
Is RingCon so exciting? I am not so into it. lol. But am glad you like it there.
Düsseldorf and Fedcon next year. New address and I wonder how they gonna do it with the "Empore" we used to have in Bonn. Will it be similar? Can you choose your seat or not?
I was very sad that there was no free autograph session before the Opening. I know i repeat myself here but I am still a bit annoyed by it.
No autographs for me but well. Not my problem but theirs. I guess they wanna do more and quicker money with the photo sessions. And I think this is really exaggerated.
Well, let's see who will come next year and where I will be at that time.... Maybe i go for a day.... But I do not have high expectations about seats, autographs and seeing really all actors who are attending the event (since I did NOT see JOE on Friday this year. And last year I did NOT see Connor.)

I'll give it one more go next year. I don't like the airport location and the high hotel prices in Dusseldorf. Sure, there's a greater choice of hotels than in Bonn. But then again, it looks like a bit of a mission getting to the Maritim on public transport. We'll see about that. The GSI was so handy in Bonn.
On the positive side, I'm quite looking forward to see Garratt Wang as MC. That will be fun for sure, he'll be miles better than Ed Wasser (though I did not find him too bad, just can't stand that other bloke). Also, I might dress up as Andorian and "surprise" a couple of "unsuspecting" passengers on the S-Bahn. Oi! Did I miss something? Mr. Kim as MC? Hm... I should check the board there more often. Haven't logged in since May.....
So, Marc is not returning? |

Nope it seems he will not return (and I know a couple of peoples including myself who wil not miss him, if I'll go to next year )
There was a post online from Dirk. But he deleted it again after couple of minutes.
It said something about Marc being aggressive and threatend Dirk and someone else whose name I can't remember... don't know what happend there - as said, he deleted it unfortunatly... _________________

Well, this is interesting. I checked Marc's site a few weeks ago and he didn't continue writing his blog there.
Wish I knew what really happened between the two of them. I have to admit: I missed Marc last time at the Opening (when I was there on that Friday). Got used to him.
Ed was nice but do we have to get used to a new MC each year? Or will Garrett be it for a longer time?
Am still a bit sceptical about DÜS as new hotel location..... |

So, made my own mind about the new MC issue.
Read the 6 pages over there and I cannot believe that they try to stop every discussion whatsoever who wants to say something about Marc! Am shocked. What about freedom of speech?
Why excluding Marc this way and not even offer the possibility to the fans to say bye to him in a thread? All is kept down....
BLT, I understand now why you are not posting there anymore (or were not allowed to post anymore)..... *sigh* |

I'd really like to know what happened between them and Marc. Maybe it was just an "enough is enough" decision. All Dirk said about this in his webchat was:
Dirk_Bartholoma> es mal so, er war sehr direkt zu manchen leuten und hat viele
Leute angeschnauzt
= he was very direct towards some people and did yell at quite a few folks
Der Marc den ihr auf der Bühne gesehen habt, der war privat
ganz ein anderer
= Marc on stage was a very different person compared to how he is in private _________________ "Note to the galley: Romulan Ale no longer to be served at diplomatic functions." |

Hm. Interesting. But still not much is said. All is a bit vague... But okay. I guess we will never know why, how etc....
Marc did a great job as MC. I don't know him personally. So I cannot judge about this. |
